Sarah (Morthland) Brookhouse joined Thomas Mamer as a student law clerk in 2022 and became an associate with the firm in 2023 after graduating law school and being admitted to the Illinois Bar.

Sarah graduated cum laude and with high distinction from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana in May 2020, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Latin. In 2023 Sarah received her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law. During law school, Sarah served as an Administrative Editor for the Illinois Law Review and was President of the Illinois student chapter of the Federalist Society. Sarah also interned for the Rule of Law Defense Fund in Washington DC; for the Honorable Judge Robert J. Steigmann of the Illinois Appellate Court, Fourth District; and for the Honorable Judge Anna Benjamin of the Champaign County Circuit Court.

Since joining the firm as an associate, Sarah has concentrated her practice in general litigation including medical malpractice, municipal, and commercial litigation defense.

On her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and playing the piano and violin. Two of her favorite composers are Muzio Clementi and Frédéric Chopin.
