Mr. Mamer died on October 26, 2015 at the home of his son in Merrillville, WI. He was 94. Stu practiced law with the firm for over 64 years between his admission to the bar in 1947 and his retirement on January 1, 2012.

During his distinguished legal career he served five years as a commissioner of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission and was a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. In addition, he served six years as a member of ACTEC’s Board of Regents.

A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law, Mr. Mamer taught in the College for 20 years.

His community affiliations included serving 50 years on the Board of the Children’s Home and Aid Society, as president of the United Fund, drive chairman of its fund campaign and president of the Board of the McKinley Foundation.

Stu regularly served as a lecturer at seminars presented by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education on the subject of taxation, and was the author of a chapter in the Estate Administration Handbook published by IICLE.

Stu will be greatly missed by the entire TM&H family, as well as the legal community in general.
