James D. Green

James D. Green has handled complex civil litigation for over 30 years, including trials and appeals. Jim, a fourth generation lawyer, has made court appearances in 42 of Illinois' 102 counties.

A substantial portion of his practice involves representation of individuals and business organizations by assignment from an insurance company. His cases include: personal injury, auto defense, premises liability, breach of contract, uninsured and underinsured claims, insurance coverage issues, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and municipal law.

In addition to conducting jury trials, Jim has prevailed on numerous dispositive motions prior to trial so that his client can avoid the time, expense and aggravation of further litigation. He also supports the use of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.

Jim is currently a member of the Illinois Supreme Court Rules Committee and is a member of the Board of Directors of Clark-Lindsey Village, a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community in Urbana. He is past President of Robeson Meadows Homeowners Association.

A native of Champaign-Urbana, Jim has been active in local government, serving as a member of the Champaign City Council from 1999-2005 and the Champaign Plan Commission from 1997-1999.

Jim earned a business degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1983 and his law degree from St. Louis University in 1989.
